Our Approach

Most groups want to fix the current system.

Not us. We think the current system is broken beyond repair. We think it’s failing our children. We think that it was founded upon some bad ideas. We think it needs to be replaced. Education is too important to leave in the hands of a broken system.

Most groups spend a lot of their time talking with legislators and other education reformers.

Not us. Our primary audience is the public, who has been left out of the discussion about education for too long. Most of the public is in the dark about the failures of the current system. We provide the public with the data and ideas necessary to make free and informed decisions. We hope they come to the same conclusion as us – that America’s current education system needs to go – but we don’t force our conclusion on them!

Most groups hope to move the needle little by little.

Not us. When it comes to our kids’ education, there is no time for delay. Each year that passes, more and more children are irreparably harmed by a failed education system. We need to act swiftly and effectively so that our children are given the best chance at flourishing in their lives. That’s why we spread the message to the public in the most efficient and effective ways possible.

Most groups focus only on the structure of education.

Not us. We also focus on the content of education—what they’re actually teaching our kids. We think it’s wrong that today’s schools aren’t providing students with a rigorous curriculum that roots them in the great authors and ideas of both the past and present. We fight for an education that not only offers the opportunity for students to be successful people, but also intelligent and good people, as well.

As Martin Luther King, Jr. stated, “Education must enable one to sift and weigh evidence, to discern the true from the false, the real from the unreal, and the facts from the fiction. The function of education, therefore, is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.”
